HiSG Fees for Withdrawal or Device Replacement

Deposit and Early Withdrawal  

$50 deposit is collected before your device is issued. 

This deposit will be forfeited if you withdraw early (i.e. during the 2-year study period). 

  • If you withdraw early, you can either: 
  • Return the device in working condition 
  • Keep the device by paying a takeover fee, based on how long you’ve been in the study. 

Replacement and Withdrawal Fees 

Below are the fees that apply: 

Time in Study 

Device fault (Manufacturer’s defect) 

New device needs to be issued for other reasons, not due to defect 

Withdraw early and pay a device takeover fee to keep the device 

1–6 months 

Free replacement¹ 

Pay 100% of device rate (see device rate in the table below) 

You pay: Rate minus $50 deposit 

7–12 months 

Free replacement¹ 

Pay 100% of device rate 

You pay: 75% of (rate minus deposit) 

13–18 months 

Free replacement¹ 

Pay 75% of device rate 

You pay: 50% of (rate minus deposit) 

19–24 months 

Free replacement¹ 

Pay 75% of device rate 

You pay: 25% of (rate minus deposit) 


Note:
 Participants who withdraw and choose to return the study device will not need to pay the device takeover fee.
