Singapore’s Laws on Vaping

Why Vaping Is Banned in Singapore

Vaping is banned because:

     Vapes are harmful and addictive

Vapes contain nicotine, which is addictive and bad for your health. Using vapes can lead to long-term health problems, especially for young people.

Vaping doesn’t help people quit smoking

Switching from cigarettes to vapes doesn’t break the addiction. Many people end up using both, which causes even more harm to themselves and those around them.

Instead of turning to vapes, smokers can join free programmes such as the I Quit Programme or call QuitLine at 1800 438 2000 for support. These programmes are safer and more effective for quitting smoking for good.

If You’re Caught With a Vape

It’s illegal to own, use or buy vapes in Singapore. If you're caught, you may have to pay a fine of up to $2,000.

This law applies even if you bought the vape from overseas or online.

If You Sell or Promote Vapes

Selling or advertising vapes is a much more serious offence.
