Your Daily Nutrient Limits

Your recommended daily intake for calories and sugar is based on your Body Mass Index (BMI). This uses your height, weight, and physical activity level.

Your age and gender may also be taken into account for your calorie needs.

Note: Regardless of age, your daily sodium intake should not exceed 2,000mg.

  • If you are 18 and above: You can set up nutrition tracking dashboards to calculate your recommended daily limits.
  • If you are under 18: The nutrition tracking dashboards use adult BMI standards which do not apply to you. You can follow these general guidelines instead:

Nutrient

General Guidelines (Daily)

Calories

Based on your age

Sugar

Up to 10% of your daily calories.

For example, if your daily intake is 2,000 kcal, you can have up to 200 kcal of sugar — roughly 50g or 10 teaspoons.

Tip: 4 kcal = 1g of sugar; 5g of sugar = 1 teaspoon

Sodium

Up to 2,000mg (about 1 teaspoon of salt)

Using Your Nutrition Tracking Dashboards

You can set up the nutrition tracking dashboards from two places:

  • From the Home tab
  • From the Meal Log screen

For step-by-step instructions, refer to Setting Up Your Nutrition Tracking Dashboards and Using the Nutrition Tracking Dashboards.

Note: Nutrition tracking dashboards are not available to users under 18 years old, as they use adult Body Mass Index (BMI) standards which do not apply to them.

If you are under 18, your screens will stay the same:

  • Home screen: You’ll see the Activity dashboard.
  • Meal Log screen: You’ll see your total calories for the day.

When you turn 18 (based on your birth year), the nutrition tracking dashboards will become available.

If You Are Accessing from the Home Tab

Check the Home tab for a visual overview of how much of your nutrient allowance you have left. The graph turns amber when you're approaching your recommended limit and red when you've exceeded it.

If You Are Accessing from the Meal Log Screen

Use the Meal Log screen to track the nutrients you've consumed and compare them against your daily limits. Values turn red when exceeded.

Checking Nutritional Information

When searching for a food or drink item, tap the blue text below the item name to view its nutritional information.

You can also access this information from My Logged Items or My Favourites .

For step-by-step instructions, refer to the Viewing Nutrition Information for Your Food or Drink Guide.

Keeping Your Dashboards Up to Date

Update your dashboards when these change, as they affect your recommended daily nutrient intake:

  • Weight (if it changes by 5–10% of your body weight)
  • Height
  • Age
  • Activity level
  • Weight management goal

If none of these change, updating every 3 months is sufficient.
