About the I Quit Programme


Details

The I Quit programme helps adults aged 18 and above stop smoking or vaping. It gives you support and tips based on your habits and what works best for you.

You’ll get to choose a support method that fits your lifestyle. You won’t be doing this alone. Supporters, counsellors, and fellow smoking/vaping quitters will be on the journey with you.

How the Programme Supports You

When you sign up for I Quit:

  • You’ll begin with a short survey to understand your smoking or vaping habits.
  • Based on your answers, you’ll be matched with a support pathway that fits you best.

There are 3 support options:

Daily SMS tips

You will get:

  • Helpful messages every day for 28 days to manage cravings and stay nicotine-free.
  • Follow-up phone calls at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months to check your progress.

 

You will also get monthly SMS updates showing:

  • How your quit journey is going.
  • Any counselling sessions you’ve attended.
  • Your current nicotine-free status.

Phone support from QuitLine

You will get:

  • 4 weekly calls with trained quit consultants who’ll help you make a quit plan.
  • 3 SMS tips a week (or daily, if you prefer).
  • Follow-up calls at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months.
  • Monthly SMS updates.

Tip: Call QuitLine at 1800 438 2000 (Mon to Fri, 8am to 6pm) to speak with a quit consultant.

In-person support at pharmacies

Attend 3 weekly face-to-face sessions (each lasting 30–45 minutes) at selected pharmacies.

You will also get:

  • 3 support calls over 6 weeks.
  • 2 SMS tips per week (or daily, if you choose).
  • Follow-up calls at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months.
  • Monthly SMS updates.

Ongoing Support After the Programme

No matter which pathway you’re in, you’ll get steady support and encouragement to help you stay nicotine-free. You will receive follow-up calls at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months.

These calls help you stay motivated and prevent relapse.

What It Costs

Joining the I Quit programme is completely free. You will not be charged for:

  • Signing up for the programme
  • Receiving SMS tips
  • Getting follow-up calls from QuitLine
